Skin Care Product of the Month: Isdin Photo Eryfotona Actinica Daily Lightweight Mineral Sunscreen

Now that the time has changed, it seems that spring and summer are just around the corner. I am so excited to be able to get outside and spend time in the yard and in the pool with my kids and grandkids. As a child, I spent a lot of time in the sun unprotected, we just didn’t know back then that it was dangerous.
Now, with a personal history of Melanoma skin cancer, sunscreen is absolutely essential and I want the very best protection. Not only does it protect against skin cancer, but it also protects against skin damage and aging. One of the aestheticians at my Med Spa told me that she considers good sunscreen the most important part of a daily skin care regimen.
In the Med Spa, I obviously have access to several excellent brands of sunscreen. One of my absolute favorites is the Isdin Photo Eryfotona Actinica Daily Lightweight Mineral Sunscreen. I love this one for several reasons:
-
This sunscreen feels ultralight on my face, not heavy and greasy
-
It blends in easily and doesn’t make my face look like a ghost or Frosty the Snowman
-
It is a mineral sunscreen that has 50+ SPF protection
-
It is water resistant
-
It contains patented DNA Repairsomes which are clinically proven to reverse existing skin damage
Isdin is a world-renowned company that has 40+ years of experience in anti-aging products. And their commitment to the planet is another reason that I love their products. They are highly committed to combat climate change and rejuvenating the Mediterranean Sea (the region where they were founded). The Mediterranean Sea has faced major threats from acidification, warming and plastic waste. Every single day 730 TONS of plastic are dumped into the Mediterranean Sea. Isdin is committed to reversing this process with Isdin Fusion Water Magic Program. For every single unit they sell, they remove the equivalent weight of its packaging in plastic from the Mediterranean Sea. They work with a program called Gravity Wave through which fisherman collect plastic and recycle it to give it a second chance. In 2023 they removed 65 tons of plastic from the Sea, and in 2024 the goal was 200 tons of plastic.
The Isdin Photo Eryfotona Actina Daily Lightweight Mineral Sunscreen is a bit more expensive than your garden variety OTC sunscreen at the drugstore, but its quality makes it worth it and a little goes a little long way.
